2018 Choral Workshop and Concert Featured

Singers from both sides of the Delaware River will have the opportunity to work with sacred music composers and conductors, Joseph Martin and Patti Drennan, at Old Greenwich's 10th Anniversary Choral Workshop and Concert on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

 $40 fee payable with registration.

five choir members register, sixth member free!

 $15 High school & college students

 Sheet music cost is extra. The list and where music may be purchased will be sent upon registration. Estimated cost is $12.

 Bring a black, choral music binder to the workshop.

 Workshop begins promptly at 1 pm.   (Registration from noon - 1 pm)

 Refreshments will be provided.

 Concert attire: white shirts/blouses and black slacks/skirts.

 Dinner will be provided or bring your own.

 Invite your family and friends to the culminating concert at 7:30 pm, which will be open to the public at no cost. A free will offering will be taken.

Patti Drennan 

Patti Drennan earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree at Oklahoma State University and a Masters of Music Education degree at the University of Oklahoma. She taught Choral Music for twenty-eight years in Norman Public Schools, the first twenty years at West Mid-High School, where she was voted “Teacher of the Year”, and eight years at Norman High School. In 2004, she was awarded the coveted “Director of Distinction Award,” given yearly by the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association.

As an active composer and arranger, she has almost 500 choral octavos, piano and piano/vocal books published with thirteen major publishers. She has served as a clinician for school and church workshops in 21 states, 3 times in Canada, and has presented 4 sessions at the Texas Music Educators Convention. She has been guest director at numerous "Composer Weekends,” and has been an adjudicator for school choral contests in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas.

Patti retired from teaching in 2004 in order to compose and stay active as a clinician and workshop presenter. For almost ten years she served as Music and Worship Arts Director at First Baptist Church, Norman. She is married and has two grown children. Patti enjoys writing, leading music reading sessions for publishers, and singing in a professional gospel choir. 

Joseph Martin 

Joseph Martin, a native of North Carolina and now living in Texas, earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Subsequently, he earned a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at the University of Texas, Austin. Joseph taught for five years in the Piano Pedagogy Department of the University of Texas.  He is co-founder of a unique travel experience, "Journeys with Joe." This program connects musicians and singers with extraordinary tours throughout the world. His company, Martin Creative Services, has established conferences and seminars throughout the U.S., as well as having developed innovative web based ventures such as Sanctuary Radio and Worship Songs Online. His music can be heard in such diverse locations as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York City, Constitution Hall in Washington DC, The Lawrence Welk Theatre in Branson, Missouri, St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, and in hundreds of worship services in churches across the United States and Canada. He continues to surprise audiences with the variety and scope of his compositions and arrangements.

Ms. Drennan & Mr. Martin will participate in the 10 am worship service at Old Greenwich Church on the day following the Choral Festival. The Chancel Choir will be offering some of the songs from Saturday as part of the service. Come back to sing again, or just come and worship with us. All are welcome.
