Old Greenwich is active in the community and the world, making a difference to better the lives around us.

Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church has a long commitment to making a difference in the surrounding community and the world at large. These are just a few of the ways that we make a difference:

  • We are on the founding congregations of Family Promise of Warren County and the Interfaith Hospitality Network (FPWC/IHN). Not only did we help to get this program, which addresses the immediate needs of homeless families in our area, going, but we continue to support it with our time and talents, hosting families four to five times a year.
  • We have a Mission Garden on our property that grows, harvests, and donates well over a ton of food (literally!) annually. We are entering our 10th year of this ministry that both feeds hungry people in our area and teaches our children about the beauty and bounty of God's green earth.
  • We participate in annual youth mission activities. This program year we're participating in a variety of fun and service oriented events: cookie baking and Cookie Walk; Middle-School Rock-a-Thon; Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser; 30-Hour Famine, to help fund feeding starving children, on February 23-24, 2019; Youth Retreat on March 15-17, 2019 and our End of Year celebration at Camp Johnsonburg's Ultimate Youth Night, featuring high adventure ropes course.
  • We host Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Venture Crew in our building at various times throughout the week.
  • We host an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) Group in our building on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm

Old Greenwich's Mission

The congregation of OGPC fully embraces its responsibility to bring the word of God into the community and world. We look to be inspired and unified in our shared mission:

“To Celebrate the Love of God in All We Say and Do”

And so, with the leadership of a new pastor and secure in God’s love and guidance, OGPC approaches the unknown future with commitment that God’s will be done and that as God’s people, we can witness the power and glory of God through our own actions. In doing so, we will celebrate the love of God in all we say and do.
