Old Greenwich is active in the community and the world, making a difference to better the lives around us.

The Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church has a long commitment to making a difference in the surrounding community and the world at large. These are just a few of the ways that we make a difference:

  • We are on the founding congregations of Family Promise of Warren County and the Interfaith Hospitality Network (FPWC/IHN). Not only did we help to get this program, which addresses the immediate needs of homeless families in our area, going, but we continue to support it with our time and talents, hosting families four to five times a year.
  • We have a Mission Garden on our property that grows, harvests, and donates well over a ton of food (literally!) annually. We are entering our eighth year of this ministry that both feeds hungry people in our area and teaches our children about the beauty and bounty of God's green earth.
  • We participate in annual youth mission activities. This year we're holding a 30 Hour Famine to feed starving children on March 5-6, 2016; our younger youth (aged 6th grade and up) are traveling to Heifer International's Overlook Farm in Rutland, MA to learn more about global hunger, sustainability, and how we can make a difference; and our older youth (aged 9th grade and up) are heading to Philadelphia's Broad Street Ministry to serve folks in need there.
  • We host Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Venture Crew in our building at various times throughout the week.
  • We host an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) Group in our building on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m.
